Mission Viejo High School Instrumental Music

MusicNotes Week of 12/7

Week of December 7
Woodwinds and Brass Can Play!
(Waiver required)

Good news!!! We have an update concerning playing wind instruments at school. If your student is a string or percussion player, they have already been allowed to play at school. Woodwind and brass players, your time is coming soon! When we return to school in January, we will start rehearsals in person during class. The district’s statement, and a waiver are attached. THE WAIVER IS REQUIRED BEFORE YOUR STUDENT IS ALLOWED TO PLAY. Please return it to Mr. Westphal.

Fall and Winter Concert Details
Your students have been working so hard on their work for the Fall Concerts, and we are excited to share that we have decided to combine the Fall and Winter virtual concerts into one 1st semester virtual concert extravaganza! Be on the lookout for the date of this event, soon to be announced! The Marching Band virtual show will also be postponed, so check back for the date for that as well!
After School Skills Camps
Color Guard and Percussion after-school camps start next week! Tuesdays 3-5 pm. Meet at the Band room. Don’t forget to complete your physical and enroll through Community Services. This is open to all students (even students not currently enrolled in the music program) at no cost! https://apps.dashplatform.com/dash/index.php?Action=ProgramFinder/index&leagueID=738&cid=saddleback&company=saddleback&facilityID=1&seasonID=54
