Mission Viejo High School Instrumental Music

MusicNotes Week of 10/12

Week of October 12
Music Program Coaches Spotlight- Meet Daniel Blank, Violin Coach
I started playing the violin at age 9 and continued playing classical music all through school. I have continued with classical studies, but my musical interests now cover a wide range. After many years of playing Rock and Pop in the Northwest and Alaska, I moved to Nashville, where I spent 10 years touring around the country with such artists as Tanya Tucker, Johnny Paycheck and Trick Pony. I have also performed many times on the Grand Ole Opry stage, live and on television broadcasts. In 2005 I moved back home to Southern California, where I I currently coach at Mission Viejo HS, Trabuco Hills HS and La Paz intermediate school. I also teach privately at home and at Kenny’s Music in Dana Point. When I’m not teaching I perform occasionally at Knott’s Berry Farm, Disneyland and around Southern California with various bands at concerts in the park and private corporate events playing anything from string quartets to square dances and jazz to country.
Program Donations
Now accepting Program Donations! While we have cut our budget significantly, we still have coaches to pay and administrative costs to cover. The requested amount for ALL FALL groups is $250 (Jazz Band is $150). As a reminder, if your student is in more than one program this fall, we only ask that you pay the higher  program donation. You can make a payment on the website (https://mvhsmusic.com/mvhsimba/donate/) or drop a check in the mail (25108 Marguerite Pkwy #A229, MV, 92692). It is more important than ever that everyone contribute to sustain our program through this unusual time. Thank you for your support!
PLEASE NOTE: This is separate from funds raised by the Hour-a-Thon, and we ask that ALL STUDENTS make program donations.
