Booster Meeting Tuesday 9/7
Please attend the next Booster Meeting on Tuesday, September 7 at 7:00 pm in the Band Room (or in the instrument room next door). We will be discussing Home Comp, budget, and the calendar for the school year. Come learn what your kids are doing and how you can help!
Program Donations
Your Program Donation and participation in Fundraising is critical to the success of the Music Program! We cannot do it without you!
DID YOU KNOW?
  • The annual operating budget for our entire program is more than $145,000
  • Coaching alone costs more than $85,000 per year
  • If 100% of the students in the program paid their full Program Donations, we would raise approximately $65,000
  • Historically less than 50% pay the full donation
  • To date we have received full or partial donations from only 15% of our students
Full, partial or recurring payments can be made online or you can send cash or checks made out to MVHSIMBA with your student, or use the QR code! Requested donation amounts are:
  • $575 for Marching Band/Color Guard
  • $250 for Concert Ensembles (Wind Ensemble, Orchestra)
  • $150 for Jazz Band
As a reminder you are only asked to pay the higher program donation if your student is in multiple groups this semester. Thank you for helping us fund our program!

Fundraisers
Our first restaurant fundraiser will be on Wednesday, September 22 at CPK! Use the promo code BACK20% and enjoy a night off from cooking! See attached flyer for more details.
The National Discount Card Sales Fundraiser is ending today. As of this writing, we have sold 150 cards, well under our goal of 1800! Please, have them text their friends, relatives, neighbors etc…asking everyone they know to buy one. We have ⅓ of the music students who have not even downloaded the app on their phone and of the ⅔ who have, ⅓ of those have not made even one sale. No bueno. This fundraiser benefits the entire program, not one ensemble. Please, let’s bring these numbers up, There is potential to earn a lot of money, but the entire team needs to participate.

MVHS Field Show (aka Home Comp)
The MVHS Field Show Tournament (aka “Home Comp”) is on Saturday, October 2nd. We NEED ALL music program parents and/or guardians from the wind ensemble, orchestra, marching band, drumline, color guard and jazz band to volunteer at this event. Join us for some fun and enjoy meeting other music families. All who sign-up for a slot will receive complimentary admission! Also, the programs need various donations to help support Home Comp.
We have lead roles that NEED to be filled for the event. This is our 41st annual event and groups have high expectations of our program, but we cannot do it without YOU! Please contact us for these lead roles (we will provide training and documentation, so you will have lots of support):
Hospitality (Oversee set-up and re-stocking of the VIP tent for Judges and Directors)
Snack & Beverage Bar (Oversee stocking and volunteers of snack bar…Drinks & snacks only)
Ushering (Oversee volunteers to open and close aisles while bands are performing) This is the best seat in the house, no pun intended!

Purchase an Ad in the Home Comp Program!
Families can purchase personal ads to give a shout out to their kids! Ads are due by September 19.
Are you a business owner, or do you work for a company that may be interested in purchase a business ad for the program? Additionally if your business has anything to offer for the directors “swag bags” we will gladly take those items (pens, key chains, cups, bags, etc., maybe from a cancelled trade show or conference this past year?)

Soda & Snacks Wars–Updated Assignments
Soda & Snack Wars have begun and Winds and Color Guard have started strong! Concert Ensembles/Strings have been added and assignments have been streamlined so PLEASE check out the updated flyer. Make sure to label your donations so your section gets credit, and remember that Volunteering can earn your section BIG points (the student sign up list will be coming soon)! May the best section win!
(TIP: Costco has great prices on many of these items!)

Dickies Jacket Orders
Dickies jacket orders are now open on the online store. These custom items are only available once a year and are a favorite for the students, so don’t miss out! Orders will be accepted through September 21st with delivery expected in mid-October. Available for all groups!
Marching Band & Color Guard News
  • We are still missing lots of forms! Make sure your student has turned in their Authorization to Treat a Minor form and Travel form, and uploaded their physical info to athleticclearance.com
  • NEW! If your student placed an order for any Band gear and has not received it yet, please have them check with an adult to get their order filled. We have a few things ready to be picked up, but most orders have been completed.
  • Interested in volunteering? We are gathering a group of parents to distribute the workload and increase the fun! There are tasks that can be done from home, volunteering with the band at football games or comps, and everything in between! Please email marchingband@mvhsmusic.com to join the MB parent committee or to find out more about it. WE NEED YOU!

ShopWithScrip/RaiseRight: Buy gift cards (physical cards and e-cards) from your favorite brands and a portion goes back to MVHSIMBA. Download the RaiseRight app on your phone to easily browse over 750 restaurants, stores, online shopping sites, and more that participate.
Link a bank account or credit card in the app and purchase e-cards almost instantly for a small fee, or place the order and pay the coordinator directly with cash or check. See the flyer for instructions on how to Join a Program on the RaiseRight app with the MVHSIMBA enrollment code.
Textile Drives: We collect textiles (clothing, drapery, bedding, shoes, purses, etc) year round, for which we receive a set amount per pound. It is a great way to support the Instrumental Music program, AND a great way to clean out your closet and your neighbors closet! Text the Booster President at 949-981-5262 to arrange a pickup.
AmazonSmile: A percentage of eligible purchases made through AmazonSmile are donated to the Instrumental Music program at NO EXTRA COST TO YOU! To register, visit smile.amazon.com and select Mission Viejo High School Instrumental Music Boosters Association as your charitable organization. Then do all of your normal Amazon shopping through the AmazonSmile site.
Ralphs Community Giving Program: A percentage of your grocery purchases are donated to the Instrumental Music program at NO EXTRA COST TO YOU! It is as simple as registering your Reward Card and selecting Mission Viejo High School Instrumental Music Boosters Association as the program to which you wish to donate. NOTE: The Ralph’s Giving Program requires you to renew your selection every September 1st.
Corporate Matching: Many companies will match your charitable donation to MVHSIMBA, some up to 100%! Please check with your employer to see if they participate in a matching program. This is a FREE way for you to double your donation!
