Home Comp Volunteers Needed!
We need your help on Saturday, October 2! CONCERT ENSEMBLE students and parents, we need you especially from 3-7 pm when the Marching Band is preparing and performing. Please sign up for this event that helps fund the entire music program!
STUDENTS, there is now a Sign Up Genius just for you! If you are not performing in the Field Show Tournament we really need your help at the beginning of the event. ALL students in the Music program are expected to help at Home Comp!
Don’t know where to sign up? Here’s some info on the different areas:
  • Snack Bar: Our snack bar will be limited to prepackaged items (aka YOUR donations!) and will not require assembling or cooking food. We still desperately need a Snack Bar lead for the day!!!
  • VIP Hospitality Tent: Provide food and a relaxing atmosphere for visiting directors, judges and other VIPs.
  • Parking: Direct vehicles as they arrive and greet our visitors.
  • Stadium Usher: This includes monitoring entry gates, staircases, and being a judge runner. Many of these spots have great views of the performances and the ability to sit.
  • Staging: Assist bands on and off the field and line up for awards.
  • STUDENTS: We need your help everywhere! We love having our students assist visiting bands, help them move equipment and find their way around campus!
Also please note that some of the slot times have changed so check any previous sign ups.

Home Comp Program Ads Due Sunday!
Program Ads are due SUNDAY September 19th and prices have been reduced! Just email mvhsmusicfundraising@gmail.com with your text and photos and let us design an ad for you! This is a great way to give a shout out to your student, especially those graduating Seniors!
Are you a business owner, or do you work for a company that may be interested in purchase a business ad for the program? Additionally if your business has anything to offer for the directors “swag bags” we will gladly take those items (pens, key chains, cups, bags, etc., maybe from a cancelled trade show or conference this past year?)

Online Store Orders
Dickies jacket orders are now open on the online store. These custom items are only available once a year and are a favorite for the students, so don’t miss out! Orders have been extended through SATURDAY, September 25th with delivery expected in mid-October. Available for all groups!
We are now taking orders for Booster (parent) red tshirts so you can show your Music pride in the stands or on the field! If you plan to be an MVP Pit Pusher (helping the Band push pit instruments and props on/off the field) you will definitely want one of our MVP Pit Crew tshirts! To ensure you get your tshirt and desired size, please place your order by SUNDAY September 19th! We will have a few extras but cannot guarantee size or stock if you do not place an order now. These are great to wear when you volunteer at Home Comp!

Program Donations
Your Program Donation and participation in Fundraising is critical to the success of the Music Program! We cannot do it without you! Cash and checks can be brought to Back to School night this week!
DID YOU KNOW?
  • The annual operating budget for our entire program is more than $145,000
  • Coaching alone costs more than $85,000 per year
  • If 100% of the students in the program paid their full Program Donations, we would raise approximately $45,000
  • Historically less than 50% pay the full donation
  • To date we have received full or partial donations from 22% of our students for $7500. Please help us get closer to our goal of 100%!
Full, partial or recurring payments can be made online or you can send cash or checks made out to MVHSIMBA with your student, or use the QR code! Requested donation amounts are:
  • $575 for Marching Band/Color Guard
  • $250 for Concert Ensembles (Wind Ensemble, Orchestra)
  • $150 for Jazz Band
As a reminder you are only asked to pay the higher program donation if your student is in multiple groups this semester. Thank you for helping us fund our program!

Soda & Snacks Wars
Soda & Snack Wars are ongoing and every donation helps us earn money at Home Comp! Please bring your donations to Back to School night on Thursday! Our biggest needs right now are soda (Sprite, Diet Coke or Mt Dew), full size candy bars, and individual bags of chips. Make sure to label your donations so your section gets credit, and remember that Volunteering can earn your section BIG points!
(TIP: Costco has great prices on many of these items!)

Back to School Night Thursday 9/23
Back to School night is Thursday 9/23 and we can’t wait to see you in the Band Room. Please bring your Program Donations, Home Comp food donations, and any Forms that have not been turned in yet. You can also see sample Dickies jackets and ask any questions you have.
Fundraisers
The CPK Fundraiser for this WEDNESDAY, September 22 will be rescheduled for a later date.
MVHSIMBA has partnered with the Haunt of Halloween event taking place at the Kaleidoscope Mall for our October fundraiser! This is not only a great way for us to earn money but is something fun to do, especially as section or ensemble activity! Purchase tickets at: https://go.hauntofhalloween.com/mvhsbooster or use Source code: Other: MVHSBOOSTER on their website. The event runs Thursdays-Sundays, September 30 thru October 31.

Marching Band & Color Guard News
  • We are still missing lots of forms! Make sure your student has turned in their Authorization to Treat a Minor form and Travel form, and uploaded their physical info to athleticclearance.com
  • NEW! If your student placed an order for any Band gear and has not received it yet, please have them check with a Booster volunteer to get their order filled. We have a few things ready to be picked up, but most orders have been completed.
  • Interested in volunteering? We are gathering a group of parents to distribute the workload and increase the fun! There are tasks that can be done from home, volunteering with the band at football games or comps, and everything in between! Please email marchingband@mvhsmusic.com to join the MB parent committee or to find out more about it. WE NEED YOU!
Ongoing Fundraising
Check out our current fundraising opportunities:
ShopWithScrip/RaiseRight: Buy gift cards (physical cards and e-cards) from your favorite brands and a portion goes back to MVHSIMBA. Download the RaiseRight app on your phone to easily browse over 750 restaurants, stores, online shopping sites, and more that participate.
Link a bank account or credit card in the app and purchase e-cards almost instantly for a small fee, or place the order and pay the coordinator directly with cash or check. See the flyer for instructions on how to Join a Program on the RaiseRight app with the MVHSIMBA enrollment code.
Textile Drives: We collect textiles (clothing, drapery, bedding, shoes, purses, etc) year round, for which we receive a set amount per pound. It is a great way to support the Instrumental Music program, AND a great way to clean out your closet and your neighbors closet! Text the Booster President at 949-981-5262 to arrange a pickup.
AmazonSmile: A percentage of eligible purchases made through AmazonSmile are donated to the Instrumental Music program at NO EXTRA COST TO YOU!
